Terms of Service & Institutional Agreement

Effective Date: February 2026

1. Contractual Relationship

By enrolling in a USOU Professional Residency or joining the Human Intelligence Network (HIN), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. This agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between the applicant (“The Partner”) and the United States Online University (“USOU”).

2. Scope of Certification & Tuition

  • Enrollment: Admission to a certification program (Catalyst, Navigator, or Synthesis) is subject to a 4-month academic cycle as defined in the curriculum.

  • Tuition Fees: Tuition must be paid in full prior to the “Resource Provisioning” phase (Month 1). Tuition is non-refundable once the digital Performance Toolkit has been accessed.

  • Flexibility & Extensions: USOU is committed to candidate success. Should a candidate be unable to complete the “Clinical Execution” (Month 3) due to valid reasons (e.g., illness or professional emergencies), USOU grants a complimentary extension of the residency period. No additional fees will be charged for reasonable timeline adjustments.

3. Academic Success Guarantee & Remediation

  • The “Second Chance” Protocol: USOU maintains high standards for the final Project Study. In the event that a candidate’s initial submission does not meet the required institutional benchmarks for certification, the candidate will not be dismissed.

  • Dedicated Mentorship: Instead, the candidate will receive specialized advisory sessions with their Core Faculty Member to identify areas for improvement.

  • Optimization Period: The candidate is granted an additional remediation month to refine and optimize their work for resubmission at no extra cost. Our goal is the successful induction of every dedicated practitioner into the HIN.

4. AI Policy & Academic Integrity

  • Use of Artificial Intelligence: As an institution at the forefront of Symbiotic Intelligence, USOU encourages the use of AI tools for the drafting, structuring, and refinement of the final Project Study.

  • Originality Requirement: While AI may assist in the process, all primary data, workshop results, and strategic interpretations must be original and derived from the candidate’s actual clinical intervention. The core insights of the thesis must represent the candidate’s unique professional competency.

  • Verification: USOU reserves the right to audit the authenticity of the performance data submitted in the Project Study.

5. Intellectual Property & Licensing

  • Usage Rights: Upon successful induction into the HIN, USOU grants the Partner a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to utilize the specific digital instruments from their tier for commercial practice.

  • Ownership: All methodologies, digital tools, and the “Symbiotic Intelligence” frameworks remain the sole intellectual property of USOU.

  • License Maintenance: The right to use USOU instruments is contingent upon an active membership in the Human Intelligence Network ($250/year). If membership expires, the license to use the tools in commercial practice is revoked.

6. Economic Autonomy & Zero Royalties

  • Fee Retention: USOU operates on a “Zero-Royalty” model. Partners retain 100% of the revenue generated from their independent workshops and consulting engagements.

  • No Franchise Relationship: This agreement does not create a franchise, joint venture, or employer-employee relationship. Partners operate as independent practitioners under the USOU certification brand.

7. Limitation of Liability

USOU provides high-performance frameworks but does not guarantee specific financial outcomes for the Partner’s business. The application of the toolkit and the results achieved for third-party clients are the sole responsibility of the certified practitioner.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the state of the University’s registration.
