HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ASSESSMENT
HOW COMPETENT IS YOUR HRD DEPARTMENT?
The research team at USOU has created the Human Resources Development Assessment (HRDA). It used Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a machine-learning algorithm to compile best practices and success factors from training departments, performance consultants, trainers and business coaches to define new standards in training, learning and development. Data from more than 2,000 sources worldwide were analyzed through Evolutionary Multimodal Optimization (EMO). The remaining solutions were then converted into an assessment with 100 checkpoints that reflects all the newly emerged standards.
The Situation
The digital revolution, the expanding complexity of our work environment and the increasingly competitive business world are reshaping training and development. More than ever companies need skilled employees. This puts an enormous strain on the human resources development departments. Trainers, mentors and coaches are facing new challenges and are constantly forced to implement better techniques and methods to optimize growth and development of their organizations.
The Opportunity
Developing human capital requires an ongoing investment in new learning and on-the-job training. But only companies that focus also on the improvement of their training & development departments are seeing impressive returns. We all know that learning, training, and development are functions in transition. Therefore, quality standards from yesterday cannot be applied today in the evaluation of human resources development departments or corporate universities. New standards need to be developed and implemented.
The Standards
We need a new set of standards to measure how professionals in training, learning and development perform. These new quality standards can be found in the Human Resources Development Assessment (HRDA). To be effective, C-level managers need to take a hard look at their training & development departments. They must execute their control function on an ongoing basis and demand proof for HRD’s performance. The Human Resources Development Assessment can accomplish this goal.
THE BENCHMARK
IS YOUR HRD UP TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS?
Companies that focus on human capital tend to perform better. The HRD function has enormous potential to support the strategic goals of a company by developing talent, aligning organizational values and ultimately shaping culture and competencies. Standards can help improve the quality of the outcome of training, learning and developing actions. But which standards should you apply to measure the performance of your HRD department and improve its performance? You could use ISO standards or adopt the criteria of the Association for Talent Development (ATD, formerly ASTD). With the Human Resources Development Assessment (HRDA) you now have an additional option that is easy to implement and cost-effective. The assessment gives you a clear picture where your HRD department needs help and how you can invest wisely in its improvement.
THE PROFILE
The Human Resources Development Assessment (HRDA) is a systematic approach to keep the company’s business strategy and top priorities in sync with HRD’s functions and activities. It is also a comprehensive competency assessment that shows capability gaps in training & development departments. This makes faster corrective measures possible and significantly improves the Return on Investment (ROI) and Value of Investment (VOI) of development projects as well as the measurement of impact on business performance.
C-LEVEL APPROVED ASSESSMENT
The HRD Assessment gets initiated by top management and completed by Training & Development Departments or Corporate Universities. The Training & Development professionals receive an assessment with 100 checkpoints. Part one of the assessment is based on a self-evaluation questionnaire. In part two proof for the evaluation is prepared and presented to C-Level Management. USOU evaluates the assessment and sends the results back to C-Level Management and Training & Development Department or Corporate University. A detailed report shows the developmental needs and builds the platform for the improvement strategy and measures.
